Xavier was only 6 when he was homeless with his mom. She loves her son and did her very best to care for him. Unfortunately, she became addicted to drugs and was no longer able to care for him. Without a safe home, and often without food, thankfully CPS (Child Protective Services) was called to help Xavier.

When Agape received the call for Xavier we knew we had a phenomenal family he could live with, Liam and Amelia. When Xavier first came to their home he would not speak to anyone. He was very shy and withdrawn. This was heartbreaking for Liam and Amelia to see, so they worked extra hard making sure Xavier knew he was safe and loved.

It has only been 3 short months and you would not even recognize him! Xavier is loud and boisterous, exactly what you’d want a 6 year old boy to be like. He has started kindergarten and is thriving! Xavier is already starting to read and loves spending time with his new friends running around the playground.

Agape offers support for extracurricular activities for kids, that they would not normally be able to experience. Xavier has started on a soccer team! He is having a blast, running around with friends, learning new skills, building his self esteem. Liam and Amelia love seeing him smile with pure joy and they definitely appreciate the good night’s sleep he gets that night, after using up all his energy on the field.

There are no more worries and fears about if he is safe, if he will have a place to sleep, or food on the table. Xavier is able to start dreaming sweet kid dreams, like being a firefighter! Amelia took him to a fire station. He was able to climb on the fire truck, try on their jackets, which were adorably too big on him, and talk to the firefighters. What a wonderful way to build Xavier up to dream, and strive to make his dreams possible. Isn’t that what every child needs? A space to dream of the future.

Please pray for Xavier’s mom that she will get the help she needs. We are so thankful that Xavier is in a safe, happy home, doing so well, because of donors like you, and foster parents like Liam and Amelia.

School, home, food, soccer team and dreams are such basic things that all kids should experience. If it was not for Liam and Amelia opening their hearts and home, Xavier’s life would be so different right now.

We are so thankful for our families. This is where we need you. If you are able to open your home to foster kids, we need you! (QR code below) If you are not able to, we completely understand. Would you instead please consider making a donation to help us find and train a family, and all the other work Agape does?

You can make stories like Xavier’s possible!

Your donations give us the much needed funds to help us find, train, and certify new foster families. This gives us the ability to give a home to and help more foster youth.

We need YOU! Every child deserves a safe place where they can have dreams about their future. You can help make that possible. Help us build a better tomorrow by helping a child today!

Thank you for your compassion to the children at Agape and for your generous donation.

Merry Christmas!
